Afghanistan Rehabilitation and Educational Program “AREP” has established in 1994 as an independent non-governmental, non-profit organization, AREP's learning experience as a development organization comes from its working association with communities in different areas of Afghanistan. More importantly, the development and growth of the organization have been through an evolutionary process. AREP is registered with the Ministry of Economy and member of Education international, ACBAR, ANCB and DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S (The International Award for Young People). AREP has implemented many projects in 34 provinces of Afghanistan for women, Youth, and children.

AREP is equipped with the qualified human resource, information and tools. AREP can implement its activities by itself and proudly saying that 20 years of experience has proved that AREP is one of the successful organizations in the community, villages, districts, and NGOs Coordination Bureau who can lead its activities successfully throughout Afghanistan. AREP is working for women, youths, children where disability is the top priority among the AREP three targeted groups in three main AREP core competencies/ technical expertise, a): EDUCATION (Formal and Informal education, have schools, and university), b): CAPACITY BUILDING [Vocational Education Skills Trainings, Awareness Initiatives (Civic Education, Hygiene Education, Human Rights, Anti-Corruptions, Access to Justice, Peace Building & Conflict Resolution) and other trainings for aforementioned target groups] & c): COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT providing them assistant in multi-cultural program, government and community dialog, peace building and Rehabilitation & Small Infrastructure) throughout Afghanistan and has good relationship with government and nongovernment institutions. AREP has implemented different types of educational, capacity building, women improvement and community development projects from different organizations such as USAID (LGCD,ASI ASMED and RAMP-UP-EAST) , British Council – TAWANMANDI , UN Agencies (UNDP, UNHCR, UN-Habitat, WFP) , The Asia Foundation (TAF), ADF Embassies (USA, Japan , Italy), BRAC, Ministries (MoE and MRRD/NSP) and Care International ), PAC, FHI 360, IOM and so on. Hence AREP is familiar with both technical and financial reports requirements of all the above donors.
